Who can apply?

To apply for a Premier World Elite Credit Card you must:

Have an HSBC Expat Bank Account, or an HSBC Premier account in another country

All credit applications are subject to status, our lending criteria and an assessment of your circumstances. Maximum credit limit subject to status.

Interest free period

Up to 56 days on purchases if you pay your whole balance in full and on time.

Interest charging information

You will not pay interest on purchases if you pay your balance in full and on time each month. Otherwise, the period over which interest is charged will be as detailed in the table below. For cash advances and balance transfers any interest charge for the period from the previous statement to the date of full repayment will be debited the following month. Interest will not be charged on default charges.

Minimum monthly payment

Interest, default charges and any payment protection insurance premium plus 1% of the principal, or 2.5% of the balance or GBP 5 whichever is highest, or your statement balance if less than GBP 5.

Primary card - GBP 290 (annual fee)
Additional card - GBP 60 per additional card (annual fee)

Charges

Cash fee - 2.99% handling fee, minimum GBP 3 (includes cash withdrawals, purchases of foreign currency and travellers cheques, but does not apply to gambling transactions)
Balance transfers - 2.9% of each amount transferred, minimum GBP 5

You can manage your card using online banking, or the HSBC Channel Islands and Isle of Man Mobile Banking app. (Please note, you will need to use the CI & IoM app, rather than the Expat Mobile Banking app).

Log on to online banking
Choose your card within the 'My Accounts section'. Then choose 'Points Balance' from the right hand menu
Select 'Continue' under 'Airline miles', on the list of 'Points Redemption Options' or 'Join airline programme' if you're not currently part of an airline programme.
Select the airline you want
Insert your details, including your airline programme number and submit your request. Please allow up to 14 days for your request to be processed

To redeem your points online:

Log on to online banking.
Select the relevant card from the 'My accounts' section.
Select 'Points balance', located at the top of 'card transactions'.
