If we have everything we need from you, you should expect to receive your welcome email in 7 to 10 days. If we need any more information we'll get in touch.
If you haven’t already provided them, we'll need the following before we can start to review your application:
- A valid identification document, such as a current passport
- Proof of address, such as a utility bill issued within the last 4 months
You'll receive either a text message or email from us with instructions on how to send these.
For your application to be successful, you'll also need to meet the eligibility requirements detailed during your application. If you don't meet these, your application may not be processed or you may incur charges.
Here’s a reminder of the HSBC Expat eligibility criteria...
You must meet at least one of the following conditions:
- Hold £75,000 (or currency equivalent) in savings or investments in your HSBC Expat account, or
- Earn £120,000 annual salary or monthly credits (or currency equivalent), which must be paid into your Expat account, or
- Already be an HSBC Premier customer in another country or region
Once your account is open you'll need to place funds into it within 3 months or it may be closed.
